Noam Segal

Noam Segal, Ph.D., is LG Electronics Associate Curator at the Solomon R Guggenheim Museum in NYC. Her curatorial practice intersects digital, political, and social representations in contemporary art, and examines the evolution and implications of digital art and emergent technologies in current sociocultural settings. Before joining the Guggenheim, she was the Director of Curatorial Research in the M.A. program for Curatorial Practice at the School of Visual Arts, New York. In 2022, she served on the curatorial team, led by artist Kader Attia, of Still Present!, the twelfth Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art, where she was also in charge of The Digital Divide, a symposium deals with the implications of Web-3 technologies on art. She organised Maria Hassabi: Cancelled (2022), a performance utilising media to explore the complexities of womanhood, for the FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial of Contemporary Art, Cleveland. In 2020, Segal organised the AURORA Biennial for Art, Technology, and Community in Dallas, Texas. Furthermore, Segal has curated and co-curated an array of internationally renowned shows such as: Neïl Beloufa: The Enemy of My Enemy, Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2018); Pope. L: One Thing after Another, La Panacée, Montpellier (2018); and Anri Sala: No Names, No Title, Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Tel Aviv (2015), to name but a few. As part of her Pompeii Commitment. Archaeological Matters – Digital Fellowship Noam Segal will present a study featuring the works Libby Heaney (b. 1981, Tamworth, UK), Agnieszka Kurant (b. 1978, Łódź, Poland), and Marina Rosenfeld (b. 1968, New York, USA).
